Mobile ROBOVAX Prototype

A single ROBOVAX mobile platform will be capable of 10,000 vaccinations/day in remote locations and with a minimal staff complement. The system is fully self-contained on a large truck with superlink trailer, and it is envisaged that the facility travels overnight to the next location, ensuring maximum utilisation of the resource. Staff would sleep in transit in a support vehicle which will double as a registration office.

The success of rapid immunisation in Africa depends on penetration into rural areas.  While the population may be concentrated in the major centres, a feature of African life is that people travel home regularly (mostly every weekend) to their rural homelands to visit family, friends and tend to their farms. This makes the immunisation of rural populations as vital as the urban populations.

ROBOVAX is being developed by Reflex Motion Control, a company with almost 30 years of experience in deploying robotics in remote locations for the film industry.

The application of ROBOVAX extends beyond the current COVID-19 crisis, and would be of benefit in the management of other diseases and medical conditions.

Our next milestone is to build the prototype.
